Lamezia Terme was created in 1969 from the merger of the old municipalities of Nicastro, Sambiase and S. Eufemia; it is well connected to the most important destinations by an international airport, railway and motorway. It is a hub of considerable importance, with a thriving agricultural economy, a lively commercial and industrial center in full development.
But more of all it is well known for the Terme Caronte from which it is named after, and its hot springs, thanks to the healing quality of the thermal-mineral water rich in hydrogen sulfide.

From Lamezia Terme you can easily reach renowned tourist locations such as: Pizzo, Tropea, Capo Vaticano, Reggio Calabria, Tiriolo, Taverna, Squillace, Copanello, Soverato, Serra San Bruno, La Sila and its national parks: Pollino National Park. Aspromonte National Park, Sila National Park, Serre Regional Park, Crati River Mouth Nature Reserve, Tarsia Lake Nature Reserve, Valli Cupe Nature Reserve, Capo Rizzuto Marine Protected Area. From the port of Vibo Valentia Marina you can embark on daily excursions to the beautiful and pristine Aeolian Islands.

The town/region offers possibilities of itineraries for all interests: enological & gastronomic, historical & archaeological, cultural/Jazz & Film Festivals.
