![]() Lamezia Terme is the youngest town in Calabria, born in 1969 with the unification of the ancient towns of Nicastro, Sambiase and Sant’Eufemia. Lamezia is connected to the major Italian cities by a modern international airport; the town also boasts important railway and motorway links. It is a flourishing commercial, industrial and agricultural centre and has also gained significant national importance as a spa centre thanks to Terme Caronte, which offers excellent sulphurous spring water.
The surroundings Lamezia is conveniently located near to many tourist destinations, such as Pizzo, Tropea, Tiriolo, Taverna, Squillace, Copanello, Soverato, Sila, Serra San Bruno. From the port of Vibo Valentia Marina, one can go on day trips to the Aeolian Islands.
